Workshop: Intro to Data Visualization with Python for the Scientist
The Barnard College Vagelos Computational Science Center is offering an introductory workshop on data visualization using Python. We'll be using Altair, a growing data visualization library similar to JavaScript's popular Vega package. This workshop is open to all levels and is particularly suitable for those with little to no coding or Python experience. We will use Google Collaboratory Notebooks for the workshop, so there is no need to download Python. The workshop will focus on working with neuroscience and climate science data to create various kinds of visualizations including line graphs, histograms, and maps. The skills garnered in this workshop will be applicable beyond neuroscience and climate science, to any field where graphing data is useful.
