Workshop: Intro to Quantum Computing
Flashy headlines about quantum computing are all over the news. But if you've ever heard of quantum computing and wondered "What does that mean?" this workshop has you covered. The workshop will be in two parts: a lecture-style presentation and a live coding workshop. During the first part, we'll talk about how quantum computers work and what they're good for, and we'll also dispel some myths about quantum computing. In the second half of the workshop, we'll use IBM's quantum computer simulator to practice encoding algorithms as quantum circuits that make use of special features of quantum logic.
Led by Zoë Webb-Mack, Post-baccalaureate Fellow at the Vagelos Computational Science Center.
This workshop is planned to take place in person (516 Milstein) and online. A link to join via Zoom will be sent to registrants shortly before the event.
We look forward to seeing you there!
