The goal is to transform students from passive job seekers into informed strategists capable of critically evaluating the market and forging their own professional identity. This series is divided into three weekly sessions that explore (1) the path from Barnard to tech through Lauren's personal journey, (2) working in research vs production, and (3) looking at the landscape of emerging AI roles.  This series is open to any undergraduate student interested in joining or exploring the tech industry upon graduation. No prior coding experience is required. Join Lauren Beltrone, a Conversation Designer at Google DeepMind who studied Cognitive Science at Barnard College and graduated from Barnard College in 2017. Session 1: My Path from Barnard to AI. How do you go from a liberal arts environment to the forefront of a technical revolution? In this opening session, we’re tracing the journey from the Barnard campus to the heart of the AI industry. I’ll be sharing the three most important lessons I’ve picked up while building everything from enterprise chatbots to the consumer tools you use today. We’re moving beyond the “listen and learn” format to help you get hands-on: you’ll walk away with a professional narrative that captures your unique story, a clearer definition of your ideal role, and a practical roadmap for building your own perspective on where this industry is headed. While you can choose to attend sessions independently, we hope you will attend all sessions in the working group series to get the most out of it! Participants only need to fill out the Google Form once. This talk is planned to take place in-person only (Milstein 516). We look forward to seeing you there! For more information about the Barnard CSC, go to https://www.csc.barnard.edu or follow us on Instagram and X (@barnard_csc).   516 Milstein Barnard College barnard-admin@digitalpulp.com America/New_York public
